About the award

The Young Creative Entrepreneur (YCE) Music Award recognises innovators in the international music business, highlighting the importance of entrepreneurs in driving forward the development of an independent, sustainable industry around the world. Run by the British Council, the programme identifies the next generation of leaders of the international music business and links them to theUKfor future business and cultural collaboration.  International winners are chosen through a selection process by the British Council and partners around the world, and all take part in a trip to build contacts with the UK; curated group meetings to give an overview of key industry issues, peer networking, access to senior UK industry figures, and attendance at The Great Escape festival and conference.

 Since 2006, 40 young music entrepreneurs from more than 20 countries have taken part in the award, building an active alumni network in the process, seeing the creation of new festivals, conferences, and bands travelling between theUK, Europe,India,Brazil,Chinaand beyond.
